Abstract

Hot deformation behaviour of Ti–8Al–1Mo–1V alloy (Ti-811) was investigated through the hot compression tests at the temperatures of 950–1075 °C and at strain rates of 0.001–1 s−1. The flow curves of the Ti-811 alloy were successfully modelled by means of the sinh equation and constitutive equations were proposed for isothermal hot compression of Ti-811 alloy. According to the date of flow curves, the values were calculated for the strain rate sensitivity, stress exponent and activation energy. The amounts of the strain rate sensitivity, stress exponent, and activation energy were calculated as 0.19, 3.95 and 730 kJ mol−1 for α + β region and 0.21, 3.6 and 194 kJ mol−1 for β region, respectively.
