Abstract

Acute otitis media (AOM) in children is a common illness that results in numerous visits to health care providers for the management of pain and fever. Children often continue to experience pain, fever, or both up to a week after their initial visit, which has a significant effect on the patient and their caregiver. Unfortunately, less than 30% of parents receive instructions on pain management. Thus, there is a clear need to improve the delivery of discharge instructions for AOM.
