Abstract

Major trauma in older patients is increasingly common. We discuss an article by Hohle et al published in Academic Emergency Medicine, December 2022, on the association between mortality and the ratio of packed red blood cells (pRBC) to fresh frozen plasma (FFP) in older adults receiving massive transfusion after trauma. We provide critical analysis of the article and summarize the social media discussion and a podcast in which the authors discuss their work.
