Abstract
After cleansing and pickling, the steel materials were dipped in lead bath using NH4Cl, ZnCl2, SnCl2 and ZnCl2 as fluxes.Changing the various dipping conditions about time, temperature and fluxes, fundamental researches were carried out to obtain the following conclusions:(1) The four fluxes mentioned adove are satisfactory prrovided that conditions are appropriate.(2) The most effective temperature lies between 350°C and 360°C.(3) The proper dipping time differs according to the kind of flux.(4) Repeated dipping up to three times is preferable. The film thus coated was uniform, pitless, bright and smooth; the thickness being from 0.017 to 0.067gr. per sq. cm.
