Abstract

The hot working process is a proven technique to manufacture special aviation components. However, a suitable working process window for Ti-25Al-14Nb-2Mo-1Fe alloy has not been established. In this work, the hot deformation characteristics of Ti-25Al-14Nb-2Mo-1Fe alloy was systematically studied. In addition, the processing map of the alloy was established to further analyze the inherent machinability properties. Through the processing map analysis and microstructural observation, the instability and stability domains were identified. The optimum working parameters for the alloy were obtained (950–970 ℃/0.001–0.01 s−1, 1015–1100 ℃/0.001–0.01 s−1), which is conducive to optimizing the hot working parameters.
