Abstract

Dy-Si-modified aluminide coating was deposited onto new γ′-strengthened cobalt-based superalloy by pack cementation technology. The coating is composed of an outer layer and a diffusion zone in thickness of around 70 μm and 11 μm, respectively. The outer layer consists mainly of AlCo containing Al5Co2 dispersoids. The weight gain of Al-Si-Dy coating after hot corrosion at 1173 K for 100 h is 0.36 mg/cm2. Al-Si-Dy coating shows better corrosion resistance by contrast with Al and Al-Si coating. The hot corrosion mechanisms of Al-Si-Dy coating is discussed in this study.
