Abstract

A heart rate of at least 130 beats per minute has been indicated as necessary for production of a physical training effect.1 Unfortunately, this requires hard muscular exercise. In an effort to eliminate this muscular component of physical training, we have attempted to produce a physical training effect by increasing heart rate in more sedentary surroundings, namely, a hot bath.
