Abstract

The host records of Aleochara species developing as solitary ectoparasitoids of cyclorrhapheous Diptera are reviewed, numerous new host records from own investigations are given, and further Aleochara species are shown to be parasitoids. The host and habitat specificity of Aleochara species is discussed, the economic importance of Aleochara as natural enemies of noxious flies is briefly reviewed.
