Abstract

Results of a newly published study suggest significant benefits to initiating medication treatment for hospitalized individuals with alcohol use disorder (AUD). The cohort study found that initiating one of the approved medication treatments at discharge from the hospital was associated with a 51% decrease in alcohol‐related rehospitalization.
