Abstract

In Britain a large majority of the women who use Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) use it in order to alleviate symptoms thought to relate to the menopause. These include vasomotor instability, 'minor' psychological disturbance and sexual difficulties. Other HRT effects gained by the women include effects on maintenance of collagen, as in the skin, and on oestrogen sensitive tissues related to the lower urinary tract.
