Abstract

This paper is concerned with one of Horace’s Odes : it highlights several echoes and connections between words, unobserved yet by the scholars. Doubtless, such sophisticated structures can exert an influence on the understanding of that poem. The concept of epistemological obstacle introduced by Gaston Bachelard, conjugated with the method of a new theory, the textique, developed by Jean Ricardou, is useful for explaining why readers had never detected an arrangement so perceptible.
