Abstract

Expectations that 2023 would be the year that Georgia mental health advocates would see true progress on legislative initiatives crumbled in recent weeks, with the double hit of a stalled bill in the General Assembly and some unexpected budget moves by Gov. Brian Kemp. Developments over the past couple of months demonstrate the difficulty mental health advocates still face nationally in elevating their issues amid economic worry and political realities.
