Abstract
ABSTRACT Hototrema rubrum (Lamarck) is an excellent indicator of the direction of transport of sand-size, carbonate, shoal sediments on the Bermuda Platform. The foraminifer lives mainly on the outer shoals surrounding the Platform. The distribution of Homotrema in the Bermuda sediments shows that sand-size, carbonate, shoal detritus is dispersed for long distances down the Bermuda slope but is not transported very far into the Bermuda lagoons.
