Abstract
The tumor dispersion of primary tumors in the dependent groups of lymph nodes was hold as the so called „cascade theory”. It led to the eradication of the regional lymph nodes with often drastic results like mutilation, lymphedema and restrictions in quality of life. The more topical seed-and-soil-theory perceives the origin of metastasis only in the primary tumor of solid tumors. The infestation of lymph nodes and the removal of the lymph nodes have no influence on the metastasis and on the long time survival: Lymph nodes do not form metastases.
