Abstract
We give an estimate of the dimension of the rational homology of the group O n( Z [ 1 2 ]) , in degree equal to the virtual cohomological dimension, for n large. This provides a quantitative indication on the failure of a conjecture of Quillen about the modulo 2 cohomology of GL n( Z [ 1 2 ]) . To cite this article: G. Collinet, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser.
