Abstract
Regulation of AMPA receptors mediates homeostatic scaling. In this issue of Neuron, Wang etal. (2017) identify a new role of secreted semaphorin 3F and elucidate how it triggers synaptic downscaling of AMPA receptors through regulation of the binding of Sema3F holoreceptor complex to AMPA receptors.
