Abstract

A comprehensive, two year, power quality monitoring study was performed by PTI for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC). The study was completed in September 1991. The purpose of the main study was twofold, first, to assist NMPC in identifying and correcting abnormal system conditions. Secondly, to create a power quality guide for NMPC personnel using the database of information gathered during the study. This was accomplished by monitoring both primary and secondary voltage on a predominantly residential feeder and a control feeder. The study was performed to address power quality concerns of the residents on one feeder. Results from the main study were presented at the 1993 Summer Power Meeting. This paper outlines some of the more interesting findings from a small portion of this study: the home power quality study. >
