Abstract

By optimizing temperature field and growth parameters, double-doped Zn:Fe:LiNbO 3 (LN) crystals are grown by Czochralski technique. Samples with oxidation/reduction treatments have been prepared. The holographic properties of the Zn:Fe:LiNbO 3 were experimentally investigated by using two-beam coupling experiment. It is found that the holographic properties of the Zn:Fe:LiNbO 3 crystals are improved compared with that of Fe/LiNbO 3 crystal. The holographic properties depend on the oxidation/reduction treatment. The doping mechanism is discussed simply.
