Abstract

The crystal structure and magnetic properties of two new materials KNi 0.5Fe 3.5V 3.5O 16 and KCo 0.5Fe 3.5V 3.5O 16 are presented. The basic model for their structure analysis was derived from the known structure of hollandite-type compounds. The magnetization of these compounds has been measured from 4.2 to 300 K and in magnetic fields up to 14 T. Both compounds are ferrimagnetically ordered with T n above RT.
