Abstract

Philips is still trying to extricate itself from the crisis in which it is immersed. More than 50 000 jobs will be lost in the reorganization announced last year, and the company's research laboratories will not escape these drastic cutbacks. As the intended changes become clear, a government report published last month has assessed the wider impact on Dutch semiconductor research.
