Abstract

We report on the hole-electron competition in an undoped photorefractive Bi12TiO20 sillenite crystal in the presence of the photovoltaic effect. Experimental data gathered with our sample was analyzed using a theoretical model that accounts for the hole-electron electrical coupling in the presence of the photovoltaic effect and the comparison of this data with the theoretical results allowed us to find material parameters that adequately described hole and electron photoactive centers and the photovoltaic field in our sample.
