Abstract

We will call hodiernology the anthropological-historical perspective that explains the evolution society in terms the confrontation between the archaic heritage and its modernization. This perspective is based on the fact that the archaic inheritance primitive societies constitutes an unconscious stratum at the base human culture, conditioning the modernizing processes in each present. The use the term hodie meaning of appears in the Middle Ages along with the term mode and the term modernus that should be understood as meaning contemporary. Whereas the modern subject is a being with a future, and the archaic subject is living in the past, victim traditions, the man today lives in the absolute present. For him, the future and the past does not exist. Hodiernology divides human acts into three modes: archaic mode, acts aimed at preserving the inherited past; modern mode, acts aimed at imposing a built future and today's mode, acts included in the absolute present, in today's history. In today's mode, acts are conceived as hybrids, that is to say, without being defined, can indirectly favor archaic or modernity.
