Abstract

Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is rare. In the UK, the annual incidence is about 3.0/100,000 in males and 1.8/100,000 in females. The gender difference is greatest in childhood. Age-incidence patterns vary markedly with racial group. Caucasians exhibit a large peak in 15–35-year-olds and a smaller peak in later life, but these peaks are almost imperceptible in Hispanics and Asians. Unlike non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), the incidence of HL is stable.
