Abstract

Hodgkin lymphoma is a rare blood cancer with a non-specific set of symptoms common to other illnesses. But with early diagnosis the prognosis for patients is good. This article looks at its symptoms, treatments and aftercare. By Margaret Perry Hodgkin lymphoma is a rare type of cancer of the blood. This article – the second of a three-part series, the first looked at Non-Hodgkin lymphoma – gives an overview of Hodgkin lymphoma, its diagnosis treatment management and prognosis. With an early diagnosis, Hodgkin's is one of the more easily cured cancers, and this article aims to enhance the knowledge of nurses about this rare condition and increase their confidence to instigate earlier diagnosis and treatment.
