Abstract

Objective To study the expressions and significance of DNA mismatch repair gene hMLH1 protein in transitional cell carcinoma of bladder. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of hMlH1 in 80 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of bladder.20 cases of normal bladder tissues. Results Reduced expression rate of hMLHl in transitional cell carcinoma of bladder was 32.5%,significantly higher than that in control group(0%)(P<0.05).The low expression of hMLH1 in transitional cell carcinoma of bladder was also correlated to clinical grade and stage(P<0.05).Condusion Reduced expression of hMLH1 may play an important role in carcinogenesis and developmem of transitional cell carcinoma of bladder. Key words: Transitional cell carcinoma of bladder; Gene expression; Immunohistochemistry
