Abstract

Combined related haploidentical-unrelated umbilical cord blood stem cell transplants (RH-UUCB SCT) is a new approach for treatment of patients with hematological malignancies who lack HLA matched donors.. Although additional cells from the haploidentical donor reduce complications associated with late engraftment in UUCB SCT, patients with RH-UUCB SCT are challenged with a higher degree of HLA disparities and potential complication associated with them.
