Abstract

This article discusses a study with the aim to attain greater understanding of condom use HIV and syphilis infection among female intravenous drug users in Maanshan China. The cross-sectional study recruited female intravenous drug users from a methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) outpatient clinic and data was collected using questionnaires face-to-face interviews blood samples and HIV and syphilis antibody tests. It provides the findings from the study and provides suggestions in order to stop the spread of HIV/STIs in China particularly for this population.
