Abstract

This text aims to discuss the access to education of black and indigenous populations, based on affirmative action policies, with special focus on 12.711 / 12. We will try to emphasize the importance of the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian Studies - NEAB, Federal University of Uberlândia, in the process of effecting said law. In order to do so, we propose to present the history of the implementation of the Law of Quotas in UFU and how it is being applied in undergraduate, graduate and teacher selection processes and administrative technicians. Breaking with historical paradigms of exclusion, racism and prejudice is not a quiet process, since hegemonic forces do not want to lose their privileges and are organized to try to prevent the implementation of any policy aimed at meeting the demands of black and indigenous pollution. Pointing out challenges and pursuing strategies to overcome them is critical in this process.

HETEROIDENTIFICAÇÃO NA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE UBERLÂNDIA

Resumo: Este texto tem como objetivo discutir o acesso a educação das populações negras e indígenas, a partir das políticas de ações afirmativas, com especial enfoque na lei 12.711/12. Procuraremos enfatizar a importância do Núcleo de Estudos Afro-Brasileiro – NEAB, da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, no processo de efetivação da referida lei. Nos propomos apresentar o histórico da impementação da “lei de Cotas” na UFU e como ela está sendo aplicada na graduação, na pós-graduação e nos processos de seleção de professores e técnicos administrativos. Romper com paradigmas históricos de exclusão, racismo e preconceito não é um processo tranquilo, pois as forças hegemônicas não querem perder seus privilégios e se organizam para tentar impedir a implementação de qualquer política que vise atender demandas das poluções negra e indígena.
