Abstract

The new pattern of modernization of agriculture and the commodification that prevails in most rural areas of Brazil is also present in the Southwest of Parana. So studying the changes that occur in this region becomes relevant. In this sense, looking pointing perceptions and reflections on the commodification and modernization from the report of six families; to this end, we broke up a comparative study between two communities, which required interviews with 50 rural households followed by focus group sessions and subsequently to interview six families (this study turned into a Master's thesis, which is Article part of this product). In this study, it was observed that the factors driving the new pattern of modernization and commodification of agriculture may also be perceived from the practices of these families and can point out that this influence on social reproduction strategies of families under study.
