Abstract

EnglishAt the beginning of the 19th century, the indigenous population and the slave population in the Rio de la Plata area, specifically in Corrientes, a city located 1000 km. to the northeast of Buenos Aires, they experienced diverse changes linked to the revolutionary independence processes. The Indigenous were forced to abandon their life in community, in the villages of Indigenous and began the dispersion towards the countryside (towns or villages) or towards the city of Corrientes. On the other hand, the enslaved ones were reaching their manumission by diverse mechanisms and in condition of free, they were occupying the lands of the south where the labor, social and economic relations allowed them, in some cases, certain mobility and social ascent. We identified that the countryside constituted a center of irradiation for these subjects who carried out processes of extended mestizajes, kinship and whitening. We are interested in this article to highlight the study of these processes in the countryside, which will approach us to identify not only the ties of kinship and miscegenation but also allow us to shed new light and hypotheses on the mobility and dispersion of the indigenous population and free in this territory.
