Abstract

Proteins operating under force are involved in several biological processes and perform multiple roles. Talin is one such force-sensing multidomain protein which act as a major player in cellular mechano-transduction. It involves in the formation of focal adhesion by interacting with several molecules in a force-dependent manner and regulates cell functions. One such molecule that binds to talin is Deleted in Liver Cancer 1 (DLC1), which acts as a tumor suppressor and is found to be downregulated in several types of cancer cells.
