Introduction

In the following series we offer an overview, what are experiences and perspectives in selected national (countries with a great membership and long history) and internationally active societies of psychosomatic and behavioural medicine. Influencing factors to increase the quality of a national health care system should be discussed and in which way psychosomatic societies in the present shape are willing to do it or - if so - can be successful.
