Abstract

Our joint book "Time of Culture" published in 2000 drew attention to the need for a panoramic vision of the future. Belonging to the pen of A. P. Ogurtsov, it referred primarily to the study of time. His understanding of time as the time of history led to the realization of the possibility of such a vision, manifested in the New Time, which put forward the idea of a single chronology and thereby presented a single world. This time, connected not by ideas, not by a Divine Word, can be called the time of civilization, when the antithesis "civilization — culture" and historical consciousness were born, despite the fact that history as a discipline was considered only as a descriptive probabilistic science. Ogurtsov questioned the idea of the end of history, because understood as a moving, changeable force, it is the foundation of freedom and spaciousness, which lie at the foundation of the world. The concept of a limit remains for the expression of a certain epoch, but it does not exist for the constant change of epochs, expressed through breaks and breaks
