Abstract

The history of the creation of the Serkownek subscales for MMPI scales 5 and 0 is recounted briefly, beginning with their basis in factor analysis. Correlations with scores on other inventory scales and subscales are presented, including main MMPI scales, supplementary scales, and scales from the California Psychological Inventory. Scale 5 (Mf) subscales are fairly independent of each other and generally not related to pathology except for MF1, Hypersensitivity. Scale 0 (Si) subscales are highly intercorrelated and generally related to pathology except for Si3, Rigidity.
