Abstract

The principles of calorimetry are presented in the context of the historical development, as follows: 1. Compensation of the heat to be measured by a phase transformation. 2. Compensation of the heat to be measured by means of thermoelectric effects. 3. Measurement of a temporal change of temperature and a heat capacity. 4. Measurement of a local temperature difference and an apparatus factor.
