Objective Radiation therapy (RT) has changed dramatically over the past four decades with the development of megavoltage treatment, 3D treatment planning, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and image guidance. Indications for RT have also changed with advances in the surgical and medical treatment of cancer. Thus, the historical trend in RT receipt as part of initial therapy is of general interest to all oncologists.
