Abstract

This article presents a brief review of the most important events in the world economy during second half of twentieth century. The article reviews the best economic performance of the capitalism (1950s and 1960s); the ascend of the Southeast Asian economies, the dollar crisis, the oil price crisis and the Latin American external debt crisis (1970s and 1980s); the collapse of socialism in Eastern Europe, the expansion of economic integration and globalization, and the rise of the Chinese economy (1990s).
