Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate histologic and morphometric aspects of alveolar wound healing in rats induced to dry socket condition and treated by ozonated sunflower oil and Alveoliten®. Under general anesthesia 84 female Wistar rats underwent to upper right incisor extraction. 72 animals were induced to alveolar osteitis by adrenalin (1:100,000) intra-alveolar insertion for five minutes. Groups were divided as: GI alveolar osteitis condition treated with sunflower oil; GII: alveolar osteitis condition treated with ozonated oil (87.3mequiv./kg de peroxide and 0.4 acid); GIII: alveolar osteitis condition treated with Alveoliten®; GIV alveolar osteitis condition without any treatment; and GV: incisor extraction without alveolar osteitis neither treatment.
