Abstract
The protocerebrum of the brain of Halys dentata is composed of 2 neuropile masses of protocerebral lobes. Both the lobes are connected with each other by a protocerebral commissure. Few neurosecretory cells besides the ordinary neurocytes are found in the region of median pars intercerebralis. The other important parts of the protocerebrum are the central complex, pons cerebralis, corpora ventralia and corpora pedunculata. Each corpus penduculatum consists of the calyx, stalk and 3 roots. The deutocerebrum is composed of 2 large antennal lobes. Each antennal lobe consists of glomeruli, which are irregularly arranged. A number of small cells are present on the posterior side of each antennal lobe. The tritocerebrum is composed of 2 small masses situated ventral to the antennal lobes. Both the lobes are connected to each other by a commissure. The paper also deals with the details of optic lobes, their commissures and tracts.
