Abstract
These results indicate that norepinephrine induces a reflex vasodilatation in the rat which is essentially abolished by tripelennamine, and is reduced by Compound 48/80 pretreatment. It was shown that tripelennamine did not depress vascular reactivity and that its blocking effect appears specific for histamine-induced vasodilatation. These data support the concept that active reflex vasodilatation exists in the rat and suggest histamine involvement.
