Abstract
Objective. The main purpose of this investigation was motivated by two lines of evidence. The first is the well-known high level of epiletogenic activity of the hippocampus providing the basis for manipulation of expression of epileptiform activity in a wide range — from local appearance to generalized tonic-clonic form. This gives possibility for reversible functional elimination of this structure during the desirable period of time. The second is also the well-known significance of the hippocampus for various steps of learning and memory processes.
