Abstract
Left portal hypertension, caused by hydatic cyst of spleen is a rare complication. We present the clinical case of a 41 years old patient, diagnosed and surgically managed in our clinic. Positive diagnosis was confirmed by imaging methods and intraoperatively. Splenectomy, associated in postoperative period with antiparasitic medication and β-blockers, had a positive influence over the disease evolution.

Există cu toate acestea un consens referitor la faptul că tratamentul chirurgical poate fi radical sau conservator, în funcție de dimensiunea formațiunii chistice, raporturile acestuia cu structurile învecinate, funcționalitatea parenchimului hepatic şi splenic și posibilele complicații apărute în urma creșterii în dimensiuni a formațiunii chistice

Left portal hypertension, caused by hydatic cyst of spleen is a rare complication. We present the clinical case of a 41 years old patient, diagnosed and surgically managed in our clinic. Factorii etiologici care conduc la dezvoltarea hipertensiunii portale sunt diverşi [3, 5, 7, 10, 15]. Studiile în domeniu relatează că hipertensiunea portală stângă (HTPS) este un eveniment clinic rar, cel mai frecvent asociat cu boala pancreatică sau cu obstrucția izolată a venei splenice [1, 2, 10, 12, 14].
