Abstract
Solid organ transplantation is considered the most effective treatment for endstage heart, lung, pancreatic, liver, and kidney diseases. The increasing number of transplants performed, and long-term survival of recipients have contributed to an increase in the diagnostic rate of non-transplant-related diseases.Heart transplant patients are at increased risk of complications when undergoing elective or emergency surgery. We report a case of hip replacement in a young man after orthotopic heart transplantation.
