This article introduces the special issue on Hip Hop and Critical Pedagogy and outlines some of the pertinent issues confronting contemporary Hip Hop scholar-activists.

This special edition of Radical Teacher is our attempt to look at one aspect of Hip Hop—its function in the realm of critical education.
