Abstract

During manufacturing of high-voltage (HV) stator winding bars several tests are done to control and confirm the quality of the materials and the processes. Some of these tests are simplified tests to confirm the quality of the part or to reject it. Other tests are real measurements with recording of the measured values of the material or the used process parameters. The final testing of a stator bar or coil has to approve the winding element for installation into the machine. This testing includes dimensional measurements, the measurement of the surface resistance of the slot part, an HV-test, the measurement of the dissipation factor (also called tan delta) as function of voltage, and the partial discharge measurement.
