Abstract

The high-temperature burn-up problem is studied for an instantaneous heat source inside a combustible gas mixture. Three geometric forms of the heat source are considered: point, straight line, and plane. The appropriate bum-up equation is derived in each case and a simple analytical procedure is given to predict the high-temperature burn-up of a homogeneous combustible gas mixture. The results obtained apply to a high-temperature burn-up in the deuterium–tritium mixture.
