Abstract

We present the method of the high-speed wavelength switching of the tunable distributed amplification (TDA-) DFB laser by feedforward control. We designed and simulated the feedforward controller to accelerate the wavelength switching. A switching time of less than 100 ns with a frequency deviation of less than 1 GHz was achieved at switching toward 400-GHz spaced channels. The results indicate the feasibility of the TDA-DFB laser for future wavelength routing systems.
