Abstract
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of the human brain is well established with 1.5T machines. DWI is now used also for other regions than the brain, and especially focused on prostate cancer detection as a promising tool. On the other hand, 1H-MR spectroscopy of the human prostate has been used also for the detection and localization of prostate cancer. We detected and identified the prostate cancer by DWI and 3D 1H-MRS with a 3.0T MRI machine with a set of body arrayed coils and without an endorectal coil. In the study, we compared the DWI and MRSI which optimized TE for Ci peak appearance. Ci peak was easy to be detected in 1.5T MRS. In the 3T MRS, Ci peak detection was very difficult but possible, while the Ci peak showed a little complex coupling in 3.0T.
