Abstract

In this paper, a high-selectivity bandpass frequency-selective surface based on aperture-coupled patch resonators (ACPRs) is proposed. The ACR includes one or both electrical and magnetic coupling paths, generally. Then, a novel ACPR FSS structure with dominant electrical coupling is proposed. This FSS consists of back-to-back patch resonators, stub and pin loaded, and one circular coupling aperture etched on the middle metallic layer. Patch resonators are operating at TM01 mode. Circular coupling aperture is designed to control the coupling magnitude and produce two transmission zeros (TZs). Stub and pin loaded are contributing to the coupling magnitude additionally, thereby enhancing the matching.
