Abstract
The Δν SiH=6 overtone spectra of SiH 4 and SiHD 3, and the Δν CH=5 overtone spectrum of CH 4 have been recorded at high resolution using the intracavity laser absorption spectroscopy technique (ICLAS). The spectrum of CH 4 is highly congested while the well-resolved rotational structure of SiH 4 is perturbed by interactions with some vibrational states of the dense vibrational background. On the other hand, the highly excited stretching states of SiHD 3 are found to be uncoupled to the other vibrational modes and the rotational constants are obtained from the analysis of the largely unperturbed rotational structure.
